🌱It’s Saturday. You want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. 🌱Maybe even garden a little. But you feel guilty. 😑You should be working on your business. 🤔 Think about this…Take 30 to 60 minutes to do something that you love. - Maybe it’s 🌱gardening. - Maybe 🏋🏽♂️, 🚴♀️, 🎾, 🖼️, 📖 or ☕️What could happen?- A new idea- Clarification on a problem- You might have fun!- You might laugh 😂 🔦 Here’s my take on this. I love business and I love the results of my gardening efforts. There’s a remarkable parallel between gardening and the world of business.👩🏫 Here’s what I’ve learned. Both business and gardens require patience and long-term vision. A garden reminds us that growth takes time. Every gardener knows that the sprouting of a seed into a vibrant, flourishing plant cannot be rushed. It takes time, care, and dedication.|| The Parallel to Our BusinessesIn our fast-paced world, we often find ourselves seeking immediate gratification and instant results. When I create potted gardens, I want it to shine immediately. I don’t plant seeds. I’m too impatient. However, true success rarely comes overnight. It requires perseverance, resilience, and the ability to embrace a long-term vision. Just as a gardener patiently tends to their garden, we must nurture our businesses with the same level of care and commitment.Your business is like a field of flowers or enough veggies and herbs to feed your neighborhood. You’re cultivating a long-term vision. So while you’re out there gardening (or 🏋🏽♂️🚴♀️🎾🖼️📖☕️,), let your mind be free of all things business. Invite your activity to serve as a source of inspiration, rejuvenation, and creativity. Take the opportunity to disconnect from the digital world, reconnect with nature, and find solace in the rhythm of life. As business owners, embracing gardening can become a catalyst for whatever you aspire to. My vote?GO OUT AND PLANT SOME FLOWERS!Garden and photo by Barb W, a Potted Desert success#GardeningForSuccess #LongTermVision #BusinessGrowth

Just like gardens need seasonal check-ins, when was the last time you reviewed your strategic plan? Any adjustments needed for a fruitful year ahead? As the saying goes, “Strategy is not the consequence of planning, but the opposite: it’s a starting point”The starting point in my way…Planting the Seeds - Your goals are the seeds. Picture your business goals as the seeds that will blossom into success.Sun, Water, and TLC - Sunlight is like your vision, water is your resources, and tender loving care is your effort. Nourish those goals regularly!Weeding Out Distractions - Focus on what really matters to make your garden – and your plan – flourish!Blooming in Phases - Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is a garden. Break down your plan into phases and celebrate each small bloom on your way to the big bouquet!Harvesting Rewards - Picture your goals as ripe, juicy {add your favourite fruit here}. When the time comes, reap the rewards of your hard work! Seasonal Check-ins - Gardens need seasonal care, right? Schedule regular check-ins on your plan. Is it thriving? Any changes needed? Adjust your watering (resources) and care accordingly. It's time to enjoy the fruits of your strategic gardening.Remember, strategic planning is like tending to a garden. Did you know that this is National Growing For Wellbeing Week? It's been shown that spending time outdoors and being around Nature is good for our wellbeing and if you also engage in a spot of gardening, it adds even more benefits! They've shown that the soil contains bacteria that help to boost our mood, and of course gardening is great movement for the body.Gardening was a massive turning point for me in my own healing journey! Transforming our plain patch of grass and weeds into a thriving wildlife garden was like a metaphor for my life. Watching it come alive and feeling the energy change from a dull existence to wonder-full abundance was amazing. Also, watching the seasons come, go and come again and learning how to work WITH Nature - what liked the conditions in the space and what grew well there (which wasn't necessarily what I would have chosen and yet turned out to be spectacularly beautiful 🤩)(I'll be sharing more about this in my upcoming book.)If you grow your own fruit, veg and/or herbs you're also adding the value of home-grown, delicious nutrients! And, if you don't have a garden, or an allotment, it's amazing how many thing you can grow in pots, such as herbs, potatoes, tomatoes, raspberries, strawberries, and many more 🤩To find out more about #NationalGrowingForWellbeingWeek go to https://lnkd.in/eAc4iZA2 #WildWellbeing #WellbeingWorks #WellbeingForLife #GrowYourOwn #GardeningForWellbeing

Hey everyone! I hope you had an amazing weekend. Today, I'm excited to share what I accomplished during my own weekend.I embarked on a venture that combined my passion for gardening with a touch of technology. I decided to create a beautiful planting space right at home where I could grow my own crops. The best part? I incorporated a clever system that involved redirecting water from a proposed nearby fish pond through a series of pipes to paint buckets, groundnut oil cans, and large pipes. It was both an ingenious and sustainable solution. The first step was to design and set up the water channeling system.I carefully planned the route of the pipes to ensure an efficient flow of water, making sure to account for elevation changes and potential obstacles. It was a bit of a puzzle, but with some trial and error, I managed to create a seamless pathway for the water to travel from the pond to the designated planting area.Next came the exciting part—preparing the planting containers!I had a collection of used paint buckets and groundnut oil cans that were just waiting for a new purpose. After cleaning them thoroughly, I drilled small drainage holes in the bottom of each container and pipe to ensure proper water circulation and prevent waterlogging. It was a small detail but an important one to keep my plants happy and healthy. While the project isn't entirely finished yet, I can already envision the lush greens and vibrant colors that will soon grace this space.Creating this innovative planting space has not only fulfilled my love for gardening but also allowed me to embrace technology in a practical and sustainable way. It's amazing how a simple idea and some resourcefulness can lead to such a beautiful and functional outcome.I encourage everyone to explore their passions and find creative ways to bring them to life. Now, I'd love to hear about your weekend! What exciting adventures or projects did you undertake?Feel free to share your own experiences, and let's celebrate the joys of personal growth and discovery together! #WeekendProject #GardeningAdventures #InnovationInNature #HomeGardening #Pond #foodsecurity #ZeroHunger
