She was the daughter of Amos Frank Cooke and Lelanet Lydgate Cooke, granddaughter of Amos Starr and Juliet Montaoue Cooke, missionaries of Hawaii. She was educated in Honolulu schools, at Mills College, Columbia Teachers College. She taught many years in Honolulu public schools in the field of music. Was also in a teaching program of the Honolulu Normal School. Miss Cooke traveled a great deal, but in later years she resided at her home in the volcano area on Hawaii.

Family requests in lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Kindergarden Children's Aid Association or The Honolulu Symphony. She is survived by a sister, Juliet Cooke Melanphy and two nieces, Mrs. Maroaret M. Turner and Mrs. Hart D.
